Conclusion: Calling Brings Us to God Himself

Calling brings us to God Himself and enables us to understand and bear responsibility in relationship with Him. Finding a specific direction in life is important, but the foundation, centre, and ultimate hope of calling must all be understood in light of the God who calls people. Paul explains that God calls believers into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:9).

“Returning to God” concerns reconciliation with Him today through repentance and faith in Christ, and also points toward the future fulfilment of salvation and being with Him forever. From today until that day, those who receive grace are continually renewed, follow Christ throughout their lives, and faithfully carry out entrusted responsibilities. Knowing God and bearing responsibility are closely connected, and God Himself remains the centre and ultimate hope of it all.

God created human beings and gave them life, dignity, and responsibility. Although sin estranged them from Him, He accomplished redemption in Christ and calls people to repent, believe, and turn to Him.

Those who have received grace are given new life and a new identity. They worship together with other believers, love one another, and serve together. Continually renewed by the Holy Spirit, they follow Christ in family, work, church, and society, carry out entrusted responsibilities, and bear witness to Him. They look forward to bodily resurrection and being with God forever in the new creation.

When we ask, “What is my calling?” we therefore also need to consider: Do I know the God who calls me, and have I been reconciled to Him through faith in Christ? How can I follow Him together with other believers today and faithfully bear the responsibilities He has already made clear? Where does my ultimate hope lie?

These questions help us connect our direction in life with God’s truth and understand daily responsibilities in the light of eternal hope. What we do matters, and the responsibilities entrusted to us require faithfulness. Yet all of this is rooted in God’s grace and directed toward His glory.

Calling begins with God and brings us to Him. By His grace, we know Him, turn to Him, and belong to Him. We follow Christ throughout our lives, faithfully carry out entrusted responsibilities, and look forward to being with Him forever. From this foundation, we can continue to ask: What is the meaning of the life God has given us? How should we respond to Him in everyday life?
